Vilma Dinkley Scooby Doo

Jinkies!! 👓 Did a lil Velma shoot 😉. Which really boils down to “I took a bunch of timer selfies on my phone” 😅. . . . Fun fact: these are not for show, these are actually my real glasses 😅 Strong ass prescription and everything, I just normally wear contacts. Also, not a costume wig so at this point I assume I’m Velma in everyday life lol. Can never wear an orange sweater out for fear of hearing “where’s the rest of the gang?” LOL . . Please check out @cosplay.and.comics page! I’m one of their page models and they have a ton of other awesome cosplays to see over there! . . . .

Were you ever teased or picked on for being a nerd as a kid? Let me know your story in the comments 🤓⠀ ⠀ For me personally, I don’t know if I had quite the same experience of being made fun of like others. I was definitely super shy and dorky af (I had glasses AND braces which is the worst combo to have in middle school) but I wouldn’t say anyone bullied me. I was just known as the quiet girl who was really smart and good at drawing. In fact, people told me they just wished I talked more. ⠀ ⠀ But when it came to things like YuGiOh and Pokémon, just general comic stuff, and video games it seemed like that was a thing that quite a lot of other kids were also into? I remembered openly trading cards with my friends and drawing Sonic the hedgehog fan fiction (I shit you not LMAO I was 10yo) but people still vibed with me. Shoot in HS I was put on to Kpop and Jpop by other people in my class. Now, I did get told I “talked white” or sounded like I’m from “up north” because I was born and raised in the south but don’t have a strong accent. But that was about it. ⠀ ⠀ I didn’t hit “over 9000” level nerd until my boyfriend/now husband introduced me to cons in college 😅 but by then I think nerdiness was starting to become more mainstream to a lot of people. So overall while my family didn’t quite “get” cosplaying at first, they were nothing but super supportive and still are. Overall I think I was kinda lucky ^_^⠀ ⠀ Anyway, it’s a lot of words for a Velma costume post LOL. It’s spooky season and this is the only spooky related costume I have. Sad right? 😅😂 and for full transparency, I’m definitely wearing the drag boobies again LOL. I was aiming for basically an anime Velma haha⠀ ⠀ #velma #velmacosplay #scoobydoo #scoob #scoobcosplay #blackcosplay #blackcosplayerhere #jinkies⠀
